Privacy policies for the apps I build.
This page is a central place for app-specific privacy policies. Each section explains what data an app collects, how that data is used, and what choices users have.
Apps
Each app has its own dedicated privacy policy section below.
DRIFT — Privacy Policy
Overview
DRIFT ("the App") is a single-player mobile arcade game. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights.
Information We Collect
DRIFT does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. The App operates entirely on your device.
The following data is stored locally on your device only:
- Your best score
- Your coin balance
- Purchased orb skins and background themes
- Sound mute preference
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
No Account Required
DRIFT does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or sign in with any service.
Third-Party Services
DRIFT does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or tracking SDKs.
Children's Privacy
DRIFT does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. Because no personal data is collected from any user, the App is safe for all ages.
Data Deletion
All locally stored data (scores, coins, purchases) can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the App from your device.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy is updated, the revised version will be made available with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

BiasLens — Privacy Policy
Overview
BiasLens is a Chrome extension that detects political bias and sentiment in news articles using a machine learning model bundled directly with the extension. All analysis is performed entirely within your browser. No article text, browsing history, or personal data is ever collected, stored on a server, or transmitted anywhere.
What We Store Locally
The only data stored is saved locally on your device via chrome.storage.local
and is never transmitted to any server:
- Your auto-highlight preference (on / off)
- Your list of allowed sites for auto-highlighting
This data is stored solely to preserve your preferences between browser sessions.
Permissions
BiasLens requests the following Chrome permissions, each used only for its stated purpose:
- activeTab — reads the text content of the page you are currently viewing in order to run bias analysis.
- storage — saves your auto-highlight and site allowlist preferences locally on your device.
- host permissions (news sites) — allows the extension to run its content script on the news sites you choose to enable.
No permission is used to collect, aggregate, or transmit your data.
No Account Required
BiasLens does not require an account, email address, sign-in, or any form of registration to use.
Third-Party Services
BiasLens contains no analytics, no advertising networks, no crash reporting, and no third-party scripts.
The extension makes no network requests other than loading its own bundled model files
(model.json,
sentiment.json)
from its own extension package — not from any external server.
Data Deletion
All locally stored preferences can be deleted at any time by removing the BiasLens extension from Chrome (Chrome menu › More tools › Extensions › Remove). Uninstalling the extension permanently deletes all associated local data.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy is updated, the revised version will be published here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Whatnow — Privacy Policy
Overview
Whatnow ("Whatnow", "we", "our", or "us") is a "what should I do now?" app that recommends nearby places based on your taste. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Whatnow mobile app collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Whatnow, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to make recommendations work. We do not sell your personal data, we do not show third-party ads, and we do not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Precise location — your device's latitude/longitude (with your permission), used to find and rank places near you.
- Account identifier — a unique identifier from Sign in with Apple, and optionally the name/email you choose to share, used to create and secure your account.
- Product interactions — your "I'm going", "Not for me", saved places, and the places you open, used to personalize your recommendations and power the Saved list.
- App settings — search radius, categories, distance unit, and time-of-day filters, used to remember your preferences.
- Diagnostics (optional) — anonymized crash and error reports, used to fix bugs and improve stability.
If you do not sign in, your preferences are stored only on your device.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information above only for the following purposes:
- App functionality — to authenticate you, return nearby places, remember saved/visited places, keep the service reliable, and fix crashes.
- Product personalization — to rank and customize the list of places we recommend based on your location and your taste signals.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, our own advertising or marketing, or analytics that measure audiences across services.
How Your Location Is Handled
With your permission, your precise location is sent to our servers to return places near you and to rank them by distance. We use location only to fulfill your request for recommendations. We do not use your location for advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers or ad networks. You can turn off location access at any time in your device Settings (recommendations will then require you to set a location manually).
Third Parties We Work With
We share the minimum information necessary with service providers that help us operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own advertising:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple. Used to authenticate you. Apple's handling of your data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Google Places (Google). Provides place data, ratings, and photos shown in the app. Your search location is sent to Google to return nearby results. Google's use of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- TomTom (fallback place provider, where applicable). May provide place data in place of Google in some configurations.
- Our hosting provider. Stores your account and personalization profile so your recommendations improve over time.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third-party advertisers.
Data Retention & Deletion
- Your filters and locally cached places are stored on your device. Signing out clears locally cached data on the next launch.
- If you are signed in, your personalization profile (taste signals, saved places) is stored on our servers so your recommendations improve over time.
- You can reset your personalization at any time from Settings → Reset personalization, which clears your taste profile.
- To request deletion of your account and associated server-side data, contact us at the email below and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and secure storage of your authentication token on your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
Your Choices & Rights
- Location: grant or revoke location permission at any time in your device Settings.
- Sync: turn off "Sync events to server" in Settings to keep your interactions on-device only.
- Reset: reset your personalization from Settings at any time.
- Sign out / delete: sign out from Settings, or contact us to delete your account and data.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
Children
Whatnow is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International Users
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app.
